Slow the FOLK Down

Every evening I am at a loss of what to do. My head spins. Emails come in. My stomach is in knots. I feel like my wheels are spinning and nothing is getting done. That this is a big endeavour that I never should have undertook. And then I remember that this is normal. Once 3pm or 4pm hits, the ultra productivity is done. And as someone who’s #1 value is efficiency (why couldn’t it have been kindness??), I must tell myself to stop working. Do something else.

Perhaps something that requires less brain work, even though there is more on the to-do list. But see, there is ALWAYS more to do. But instead of slogging through at minimal efficiency while questioning my very existence, I can wait until tomorrow...until that beautiful morning coffee is in my veins. Because, as always happens, inspiration, productivity, fun, and efficiency, will come back again then (as long as I didn’t party the night before), and I’ll get that sh*t done. I always do. It just sucks to not be efficient efficient 16 hours a day. But perhaps it is a lesson in balance as well.

Slow the FOLK down. Does anyone else have feelings like this? I can’t even begin to understand what it must be like to be a night person…
